Art for Life's Sake Seasonal Calendar


Art for Life’s Sake will present a series of benefit concerts to support the students’ scholarship funds and for musical instruments and supplies. The final community concerts will be free of charge.

Somebody Someday

Art for Life’s Sake will present Somebody Someday: a poetic and musical reflection of surviving poverty and separate and unequal schooling – a pre-civil rights era. This is a performance collaborative between AFLS and IRIS Orchestra in celebration of African-American History. This concert will involve other performers and is expected to be an awesome celebration.

Multicultural Performing Artists: A Benefit Concert

The concert will include a variety of ethnic performing artists and ethnic music that is envisioned to be the highlight of performances this season. It will include AFLS ensemble performing abbreviated pieces. Confirmed guest ethnic artists include Butch Mudbone performing Men Northern Traditional Dance, Zanya Cruz with a Native American Jingle Dance, and Howard and Beverly Vance from the Howard Vance’s Guitar Academy performing a variety of ethnic music.
